Jajuicy's Sampling samples initial thoughts ( warm weather scents)

Eau Cartier Concentree (Monday morning-afternoon
Scent 7.5/10
Projection 6/10
Longevity 7/10
I wore this on Monday was surprised by the scent. Opened with a herbal accords smelled invigorating and like walking into a greenhouse. This lasted 30 minutes then there was a spicy amber dry-down.  For the first two hours projection was decent but it abated soon after. This scent lasted a solid 7 hours on me. Good idea to add amber as it adds to the scents longevity.

Tom ford Noir (Monday Night Dinner)
Scent 8/10
projection 8/10
Longevity 6/10
I wore this scent out to a nice restaurant, as it is a very sophisticated and formal scent.  The scent was complex as scents go. It began with a smooth creamy pepper smell, then the dry down was a smoky vanilla. This is not a jovial scent it is serious and dark.  It projected exceptionally well, with two sprays people could definitely smell me. It lasted around six hours. I didn't mind that it didn't last very long because of its stellar projection.

Tuesday Creed Milisime Imperial
Scent 9/10
Projection 5/10
Longevity 4/10
To begin with the strong point of this fragrance is the fragrance, the opening is fruity and the dry-down is woodsy. When i did smell it on me it was heavenly. However it only lasted 3 hours at best on me, i had to keep reapplying all day. Other people could not smell me this is a skin scent. Scent is great but performance is lackluster.

Wednesday Hermes Ambre Mandarine
Scent 7/10
Projection 5/10
Longevity 5/10
This smelled very pleasant when first applied I got a blast of mandarin oranges. In the dry down I got a very sharp amber, not pleasant or smooth very sharp and metallic. I wish Jean Claude Ellena did the amber portion a tad As it would the scent much more appealing. the scent projected ok for the first hour then no one else could smell you, bear in mind this was worn in 90 degree weather and still didn't project well. The longevity life lasted a a meager 5 hours. A linear and light orange mandarin cologne, I'd consider it as an oriental type fragrance.
Thursday Bleu De Chanel
Scent 9/10
Projection 8.5/10
Longevity 8/10
Wow. This takes the cake as my favorite citrus fragrance. Powerful opening of Citrus and Grapefruit. Middle notes of peppermint, Vetiver, and Jasmine. The dry-down is pleasant citrus combined with cedarwood, sandalwood, patchouli, and a touch of incense. Males and Females like the smell of this fragrance, and when I wear this it elevates my mood. This scent is a projection beast, people can and will smell you. Unlike other citrus colognes Bleu De Chanel lasts forever, I easily get 8-10 hours on my skin. It is a crowd pleaser while being complex at the same time, and this scent is versatile, can be worn in formal and informal settings. Jajuicy's Favorite of the week!
Friday Aqua Di Gio (O.G. ADG)
Scent 8/10
Projection 8/10
Longevity 7/10
The classic and revered ADG. This scent started the aquatic trend of the 21st century. (That would be Davidoff Cool Water, but this is definitely the trend :) )Everyone and their dad has this scent... so don't wear this if you want to be original.  Opens with citrus and marine accords and settles with patchouli and musk. Projections decently 3 sprays recommended. Lasts around 6-8 hours.

The DMV

Today I was wondering what cologne to apply for my driving test. I wanted to appeal to my instructor in hopes of increasing my chances of passing, however, I also did not want to choke them out with my powerful scents. My friends suggested Creed Aventus. I figured you can't go wrong with Aventus, and it pulled through as it always has. I passed the test, and the Aventus gave me the confidence to do what had to be done. This may seem completely irrelevant, but if there is a scent that can appeal to a middle aged woman working at the DMV, it can appeal to any female. Thank you Aventus, the king of scents.

Rochas Man Review

Rochas Man

Backround information: This fragrance is made by perfumer Maurice Roucel, he is known to have made masterpieces such as Bond No. 9 New Haarlem, Frederic Malle Musc Ravaguer, and Nautica Voyage. This scent is said to be similar to Bond No 9 New Haarlem. The difference being, New Haarlem has more intense coffee notes and some cedar wood is incorporated into the middle.

Recommended uses: Recommended for use in colder weather. This could be either a formal or informal scent. Perfect scent for a date, very sensual and romantic.

How many sprays? 2-3.

Top: Lavender, Green Leaves, Bergamot
Middle: Lush
Basenotes:  Amber, Mocha, Vanilla

Presentation: The presentation is pink themed, this is well suited for the cologne as it is a sweet gourmand fragrance. Rocha's box is a radiant pink and the bottle is nicely colored with a tinge of purple at the bottom and the light purple tone from the juice. The bottom opens up and reveals the atomizer, which lets out a lot of juice but not nearly as much as creed sprayers. Only qualm I could see people having is the shape, it is shaped quite eccentrically. However I find the shape comical and it is a centerpiece for conversation when people visit my room and they see the Rochas man sitting on my counter loud and proud, the show stopper.

Longevity: Gourmand scents usually last longer on me. Ive been pleased with the longevity of this fragrance around 8-10 hours.

Projection: This is a strong projector with 2 to 3 sprays people will definitely smell you. The projection in the opening is beast but the last few hours of the cologne, it will wear close to your body.

Scent: The fragrance is beautiful gourmand, a seductive mix of lavender, vanilla, and coffee. The lavender is most prominent in the beginning and it is a smooth enticing lavender. Then comes the dry down which is vanilla coffee and lavender, if you have a sweet tooth this dry down is your one way ticket to candy land.
 Scoring
Presentation: 7/10
Longevity: 8/10
Projection: 7/10
Scent: 9./10
Overall strong 8/10
  Long Story Short ?
Beautiful sweet gourmand fragrance
can be found for around $25-$40

Lacoste LIVE

New Lacoste Fragrance, this one is made by Procter & Gamble, and is part of their L!VE Line. This collection has the habitual and in my opinion overused theme of a fresh, citrusy fragrance.

Almost all Lacoste Fragrances are of the fresh type. This one is no different.

Notes:
Top: Lime
Mid: Green Leaves, Aquatic
Base: Guaiac Wood, Licorice

The repetitive fragrance themes still evolve around the fresh, the wood should cut out nicely as well.

Lacoste is a sports apparel company, and as so, may convey the standard fresh, athletic theme, but perhaps it is time for them to look for another theme.

Hopefully the Wood and Licorice will be a perfect addition to the cliché theme.

This particular fragrance will be released later in May, or even early June. It will have a full line including:

8 ml Eau de Toilette Travel Spray
40 ml Eau de Toilette
100 ml Eau de Toilette
150 ml Deoderant Spray
75 ml Deoderant Stick
159 ml Shower Gel

Have to say I'd wish they'd make some Eau de Parfum

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a bottle of Eau du Toilette, hope you guys will too!

Mid Spring Check-in

So many things going on. School is going in full force with work, sports, and more. But there is always time for fragrance. As we all are in the middle of spring, the warm weather scents have emerged from our wardrobes, after a nice cool winter with the appropriate cool-weather scents. I'm honestly really excited for the new Creed Acqua Originale line and Bond Shelter island, as announced in my previous posts.

But this spring so far, I have been able to start wearing aquatics, and other fresh scents, which I enjoy. Time to put away the cold weather Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford and start wearing the Neroli Portofino! In Northern California, the weather has really warmed up, enough for me to start wearing the absolute summer scents that I will be rocking for sure all throughout this summer as well! Creed Virgin Island Water has already gotten some likes from the females. I've been anxious to try the new and latest Calvin Klein CK One Summer 2014 edition, and it has not dissapointed. The fresh citrus and coconut fragrance is a delight to wear, and for me, it will be a big and inexpensive hit for me ($52 retail at Macy's and Ulta).

A classic that I have also been wearing and earning good reception from is Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme. This was a blind buy that I had early this year, and I have no regrets buying this bottle of fragrance. This is the perfect balance of fresh and musky. The citrus, floral, woody, and musk notes all tie in brilliantly, and lead to this wonderful fragrance. Usually available for 2.5 oz at $62, you can pick it up at most department stores and at Sephora, where I got my bottle.

For now, that's all I really have to rave about, and all that I have to say. It is still early in the Spring-summer season for 2014 and you will all hear more from me on these wonderful fresh fragrances!
